NABTEB (National Business & Technical Examination Board)

NABTEB (National Business & Technical Examination Board) is popularly known for her O-Level Exam but little or nothing is known about the NABTEB A-level exam. NABTEB conducts two A-level exams ANBC and ANTC respectively.

NABTEB is one of the examination bodies set up by the Federal Government in 1992 to reduce the burden of conducting examinations, which involve a lot of technical and trade-related practical, which were formerly bored by WAEC. The board conducts the National Technical Examination (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC) and their respective advance level examinations (ANBC and ANTC). NABTEB A’Level Examinations (ANBC & ANTC) can only be taken or sat for by candidates who have gone through intensive Advanced Level lectures are provided by their College. ANBC & ANTC certificates are equivalent to OND, NCE, and so on. Thus, with NABTEB A’Level Certificate, in the Labour Market, an applicant is placed on level 5 (especially in the civil service). 

Like we earlier said, NABTEB A-Level is an advance level of NABTEB O-Level. D epending on the option you choose between technical and business, you must take part of the specialized modules designed for NABTEB A-Level It is also important to state that the significance of NABTEB A-Level cannot be over emphasis. By passing through the NABTEB A-Level programme, you will graduate as a technician and it can afford you the opportunity to secure junior level position (level 5) in different technical areas. 

In situation you wish to further your education, NABTEB A-Level is listed as part of Direct Entry qualification by JAMB for students preparing to start their higher education from 200 Level. So, you could sit for NABTEB A-Level and gain admission into 200 level of any university, in as much the course you apply for is either Business-related courses (e.g.: Business Administration, Accounting, Banking & Finance, or Management Courses)or Technical-related courses (e.g.: Architecture, Engineering courses, e.t.c). You could also gain direct entry admission to study courses as accepted by your University of choice.

Duration of Academic Programme

The duration of the Programme of courses for the Board’s Examination is a minimum of one academic session of two semesters.

Entry Qualifications

The Basic Qualification for Enrollment is a minimum of five (5) Credit Passes at the Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) / General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level in subjects relevant to the desired university programme or course of the student’s choice.
